Are you very much annoyed while travelling to Porur from Eekkatttuthangal because of the negating traffic on Kathipara grade separator and Butt road? Well, it’s time to heave a sigh as the issue is marking its end.
With the Public Works Department (PWD)’s planning for a new project to comfort commuters using light motor vehicles (LMV), it will soon be easy for people to travel from 100 feet road (Jawaharlal Nehru Salai) to Porur.
PWD together with Chennai Corporation is planning to get rid of troublesome traffic at Kathipara. As plans are on to lay a 25 feet wide two lane tar road, it is expected to reduce the populous LMV density on Mount to Poonamallee high road. The road will be laid for a length of 3 km along the banks of Adyar River starting from MIOT hospital till Jaffarkhanpet.
Marking its beginning at the MIOT, the road will have its way along the left for about one kilometer towards Nandambakkam up to Burma colony. The existing causeway over the Burma colony river will be replaced by a new bridge, say sources.
