As proper special precautionary action had not been taken, Dengue fever has been spreading quite fast throughout Tamil Nadu.
Over the last 2 months, there were some sporadic cases of dengue in a few places. Fatigue & joint pains are feet severely. The public resort to the hospitals.
Reasons
Thermal convection in the atmosphere, intermittent rains, etc have helped in the multiplication of mosquitoes which spread dengue. Failure to arrest this has been cited as the main reason.
An official informed that actions are being taken. At Villupuram, blood tests have been carried out. Special care is being taken in the hospitals where the new patients come for treatment. There is no need for any panic.
How to prevent dengue?
· Wear dresses which completely cover the body such as full-sleeved shirts.
· Avoid wearing dark coloured cloths.
· The sweat or perspiration from the human body attracts the mosquitoes. Hence, it is better to take bath twice in the day. Deodorant sprays can be used to contain the perspiration & its smell.
· Completely avoid water stagnation in and around the house. Clean the sumps & overhead tanks regularly and also clean the water storage vessels regularly.
· Remove all the garbage items such as used plastic cups, tyres, coconut shells, etc.
· If you detect any symptoms prepare and drink a concentrate of ground-neem (‘Nila-Vembu’ Kashayam in Tamil)
