The central government has emphasised the National ID Card Bureau to ensure issue of 100 Crore Aadhar cards before the end of next year.
During the recent cabinet meeting headed by the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, a decision to commence issue of Aadhar cards was taken as the 5th stage.
Accordingly, National ID Card Bureau has been instructed to issue 100 crore Aadhar cards.
Further, approval was granted by the cabinet committee of economic welfare to sell part of public undertakings such as Coal India, ONGC, and NHPC. It is expected that the government will earn a revenue of over Rs. 43000 Crores by this measure.By selling 10% of Coal India, the revenue will be Rs. Rs. 23000 Crores.
By selling 5% of ONGC, the revenue expected is Rs. 18000 Crores. The cabinet has reserved funds of Rs. 288 Crores for the employees in 11 public sector undertakings which have not been well economically.
Approval was granted to reserve funds of Rs. 950 Crores for the growth of coffee production as a part of the 12th 5-year plan.
