18 city artists to be awarded

Twenty-seven artists, including 18 from Chennai, will be presented the Sri Shanmukhananda Bharat Ratna M S Subbulakshmi Fellowship Award in Music, 2014, by Maharashtra governor C Vidyasagar Rao on September 16 in Mumbai. Each fellowship comprises Rs 1 lakh per year for three years and a citation. The awar dees are aged between 11 and 28.Suguna Varadachari, a Carnatic musician from Chennai, will be presented the M S Subbulakshmi Sangeetha Pracharya award.
