Tirupathi Holy Umbrella procession, sponsored by the ;Hindu Dharmatha Samithi’ Endowment Board, will start from Chennai on 25th September.
The procession will start after special puja or prayer ceremony at the Chennai Kesava Perumal Temple located in Devaraja Mudali Street.
The procession will move through NSC Bose Road, Govindappa Naicken Streeet, Bairagi Madam, and Wall Tax Road and will reach and pass ‘Elephant Gate’ (Yaanai Gavuni’) at 4.00 PM.
It will reach Salt Quarters (Nataraja Theatre), then to St. Thomas Mount Road, Choolai High Road, Avadhana Pappaiah Road, Perambur Barracks Road, Konnur High Road, Tawkers Choultry, and Lord Kasi Viswanath Temple.
On Wednesday, 26th September, the procession will move through ICF, GKM Colony, Thiru. Vi. Ka. Nagar, Perambur, and Villivakkam. On Satuday, 27th September, it will move through Ambattur Industrial Estate, Mogappair, Ambattur, Thirumullaivayil, and Avadi. On Sunday, 28th September, it well move through Pattabiram, Thirunindravur, Manavala Nagar, Thiruvallaur and Lord Veeraraghava Perumal Temple.
On Monday, 29th September, the holy umbrella procession will pass through Thirupachur and reach Tirupathi. The procession will gover the ‘Mada Veedhis’ (temple corridors) and move with holy cloths and items to the front of Tirupathi Jeeyar’s abode. Then the holy umbrella will be handed over to the TTD (Tirmala – Tirupathi Devasthanam Board) authorities.
