Chennai Corporation Employees compete in sport competition

Chennai Corporation has something to relax their employees as they kick started several competitions for them. During its inauguration, Mayor Saidai Duraisamy and Vikram Kapur, commissioner played a friendly carom match and badminton match. The opening ceremony also had State minister for Handloom and textiles, Gokula Indira.
The event saw participation from 600 employees in indoor competition. These indoor games were held at the Dr J Jayalalitha Indoor Basketball Stadium, Kilpauk Garden Colony. The games mainly included carom, chess and badminton (singles).
Outdoor games including Throw ball and Cricket are scheduled for Wednesday. This competition of all indoor and outdoor games is scheduled to get completed by 30th September. Winners of these games will get into a state level competition in which they will compete with players from other municipal corporations from the state. This state level match is scheduled for October 7 and 8.
