Ebola in Chennai?

Man who returned from Nigeria on Monday, aging 22, has been suffering from very high fever. He is being closely monitored now at Government General Hospital and symptoms for Ebola virus are being checked.

The patient named Balamurugan hails from Ariyalur district. On completing his course at Madras Medical College, he went to Nigeria for practicing in a private hospital. He then came back to his hometown Chennai on a vacation via Abu Dhabi during which he got very high fever. He was immediately screened right at the airport and was taken to government hospital.

Speaking to the doctor at the hospital, he says tests are being carried out to sense the presence of Ebola virus, dengue, malaria, Chickungunia and Typhoid. His blood samples are now being examined at the laboratory and results are awaited.

The doctor also added that the patient’s fever is significantly reduced after the first course of treatment. We are not sure of anything, he points.
