The very first photo sent by Mangalyaan is released by ISRO. This photo was uploaded on the official Facebook page of Mars research mission of ISRO.
Making use of the color camera affixed with Mangalyaan, it has sent 10 pictures of Mars by Thursday morning. This gives an overall outlook of the Red planet.
These pictures were first sent for view for Prime Minster following which it was taken online for the public.
Mangalyaan, world’s cheapest interplanetary mission reached the orbit of Mars in the morning hours of Wednesday. Nearly 5 parts of the mission began their functioning within very few hours of its launch. Among the five is the camera affixed to it. This camera has taken ten pictures of the planet and sent us. Furthermore, other equipments will also start their function back to back, say scientists at ISRO.
