While most schools are reluctant to admitting students under the Right to Education Act, here is an institution at Sithalapakkam which stands afresh among the crowd laying a completely new refreshing path.

The school by name Sai Sankalp Primary School which was established in 2006 by five youngsters based in Madipakkam is providing free education for classes between LKG and 5th Standard. They now have 230 students from poor backgrounds who hail from areas including Arasankazhani, Nethaji Nagar, Perumbakkam, Indira Nagar, Semmanchery, Nukkampalayam, Sithalapakkam, etc.

Speaking to Kannan Ramani who is one of the founders of the schools, he says there is no government school in these localities and of course, private schools demand high donations. So it was our idea to establish a school that offers free education in English medium.

On asking how they managed to handle the school without collecting fees, he says they are able to manage it with the financial support and assistance provided by individuals and other social organizations.

‘Sevai’ an NGO provides stationery and other required materials for students. There is one other NGO that takes care of organizing medical camps for students and their parents too, said Sairamkumar Jayaram who is among the founders of the school.

Salutes to your incredible efforts!
