India’s domestic passenger traffic saw a good growth in the past two months and reached 7.4 per cent in August, climbing second highest place next to Russia which showed a growth of 10 per cent, say International Air Transport Association (IATA) data reports.

The report states that India has been facing a constant growth in the past two months and this is found to be a good sign of improvement.

The measure of actual passenger traffic called the Revenue Passenger Kilometers grew to 7.4 per cent in August last year. This is found to match with the 7.6 per cent rise in the measure of passenger capacity of seats in aircraft called Available Seat Kilometers.

A 4.5 per cent increase is found in the average domestic demand compared to August last year. It is said that Russia has been able to stimulate good volume of domestic demand by practicing fare reductions, say reports.
