Medicine field in T.N marked a milestone with delivering a baby from a woman with transplanted uterus.
Women with uterine cancer have no possibility of giving birth to a baby on their own. This however has a solution now.
Now, for the very first time in the history of medical field, a woman aging 36 gave birth to a baby with her transplanted uterus. She was born with no uterus at all. She got a uterus transplated to her from a donor aging 60 years. The pair then underwent a treatment at Gothenburg Sahlgrenska University for artificial insemination.
With this, the woman got conceived and was continuously monitored by the doctors. She gave birth to a premature male baby recently in September. The baby weighed 1.8 kg during birth. Both the baby and the mother are said to be under stable health conditions now, say doctors.
This is considered a huge success in the field of medicine and doctors are overwhelmed at their accomplishment.
