The 12th Euro Fed Lipid Congress in Montpellier, France made a recent study to figure out the connection between consuming milk and the risk of hyper-tension and other cardiovascular diseases.
The study reports state that increase in daily intake of milk helps lower the incidence of hyper-tension and risk of heart attack, say Dr. Sabita S. Soedamah-Muthu from Wageningen University, Netherlands.
The study involved examining 57,256 individuals and 15,367 patients with hyper-tension. According to study results, consuming about two cups of milk in a day brings considerable reduction in blood pressure.
The study reports were further supported by Clinical Trial published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. They say extra consumption of non-fat dairy products on a daily basis lowers blood pressure in adults and middle-aged individuals.
On the whole, cardiovascular diseases claim about 17 million lives every year and high blood pressure 9.4 million.
