Karnataka High Court also rejected Jayalalithaa’s appeal against the sentence.

Judge Chandrasekhar gave the orders.

He stated that persons jailed under the acts of corruption cannot be let out easily and going by the precedents on other corruption cases, there are no chances for granting bail to Jayalalithaa.

The judge also stated that the sentence accorded cannot be stopped.

Karnataka government’s advocate, Mr. Bhavani Singh, had stated earlier that there were no objections to granting bail. Hence, it was expected tht the bail appeal will be granted. However, the judge rejected the bail appeal.
