The Nokia Cell-phone factory, situated in Sriperumbudur near Chennai city will be closed on 1st November.
The factory had been functioning from 2006.
The leading software company, Microsoft bought Nokia Company last year.
However, it cancelled the purchase agreement for the Indian part subsequently.
Now, Nokia has declared that the Sriperumbudur-Chennai Nokia factory will be closed following the cancellation of the purchase agreement between Nokia & Microsoft.
It is understood that Microsoft decided against the purchase of the Chennai Nokia factory as it caught in problems relating to taxes.
