Chennai Meteorological Centre has declared that rains in Tamil Nadu will persist for the next 24 hours due to storm ‘Hudhud’.
The storm Hudhud was formed near Andaman and centred near southeast of Vizag city at 350 km on Friday. The meteorological centre reports that this will get further intensified. Hudhud is likely to cause sever damages in Andhra Pradesh.
Though there is no severe harm expected in Tamil Nadu, it is expected that there will be widespread rainfalls in all districts of Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry.
On the details of rainfall registered till 8.00 AM on Friday, there was 5 cm rains in Buthapandi, Kanyakumari district. There was 4 cm rainfall at Vilathikulam in Tuticorin District and Madukkur in Tanjore district. 4 cm rainfall was record in Thiruvarur & Sivagangai.
