Central government has come forward with a notable move by getting itself involved in Aadhar card distribution. Having decided to get involved in it, the central government has sent a letter to the all state governments describing its move.

Excerpts from the letter to state governments:

Aadhar card number given to each and every Indian citizen helps in giving everyone a unique identity. More importantly, it helps people from poor backgrounds to avail all government subsidies and schemes. Aadhar card can be of help in multiple ways: opening a bank account, getting passport, etc.

The new move made by the central government towards Aadhar card is totally different from that of the former Minister of Home Affairs Sushil Kumar Shinde. He and P.Chidambaram gave out severe comments on Aadhar card scheme.

They in fact induced various queries and doubts about the reliability of the unique Aadhar card number. They said this number was not at all required to verify Aadhar card details of individuals. They also doubted the reliability of address and identity proof submitted by the applicants of Aadhar card.

Amidst this, the existing BJP party has accepted the Aadhar card scheme and states there cannot be any better way of providing unique identity to every citizen of our country.

A hint on Aadhar:
Aadhar card scheme commenced in 2010 and has so far distributed over 67.38 crore cards to the public.
