47 Post offices in Chennai city changed over to Core Banking Facility!

So far, 47 Post Offices in Chennai have changed over to the Core Banking facility.

In the next stage, ATMs will be installed.

This was announced by the Chennai Region Postal Department President, Mr. Merwyn Alexander.

In the plan for introduction of the latest Information Technology faculties, core banking facilities are being introduced in the Post Offices at a brisk pace.

So far, 47 Post Offices in Chennai have changed to the Core Banking facility.

573 Post offices have been computerised.

After the installation of ATM in T-Nagar, arrangements are being made to install ATMs in other Head Post Offices where they will be shortly installed.

Under this new system, people having savings account in Post Offices can enjoy the benefit of transacting with all other Post Offices allowing quick and easy transactions.

Rs. 1877 Crores was allotted for the project of installing the latest information technology equipment in the 1.55 Lakh Post Offices throughout the country.

During the interim budget, Rs. 4909 Crores was allotted.
