Mandala Poojai performed in Sabarimalai temple of Lord Ayyappa is the most famous among all poojas.
Lakhs of devotees from all over India come to Sabarimalai for this special occasion to have the Darshan of Lord Ayyappa.
For this year, the temple corridors will be opened on 16th November at 5.30 AM for the commencement of Mandala Poojai.On this day, only ‘Deeparadhanai’ will be performed for Lord Ayyappa.
From 17th November, special poojas will be performed for the next 41 days.
The temple corridors will be closed on 27th December after the completion of Mandala Poojai.
After the opening of the temple corridors on 16th November, the occasion of the new melsanthis assuming office at the Maligaipurathu Amman temple will take place.
Krishnadas namboodri will assume office as melsanthi of Sabarimalai temple and Kesavan Namboodri will assume the office of melsanthi at Maligaipurathu Amman temple. The ceremonies for this occasion will be performed by Thanthri Kandararu Rajeevaru.
During the Mandala Poojai period, the temple corridors will open daily at 4.00 AM. Ganapathy Homam, Usha Poojai, Uchikala poojai, and Pushpabishekham will be performed.
‘Ghee Abhishekham’ will be performed on Lord Ayyappa from early morning till 12.00 noon.
Dewasam Board has made all arrangements for faculties for the visiting devotees.
Preparation of the special dishes offerings of the Lord Ayyappa, aravanai and appam has already started and in good progress. It has been ensure that sufficient quantities will be made for all devotees.
Basic faculties, medical facilities, and police security are being arranged at full earnest for the special occasion.
