40 per cent of overall gold import is done by 6 private businessmen, reports

It is found that out of the total volume of gold imported in our country between April and September this year, 40 per cent is done by 6 private businessmen.
In a recent study made by the central government, it is found that 3 of these businessmen are from Mumbai, and the remaining three are from Bengaluru, Delhi and Haryana. Though there is no issue or malpractice with paying import tax, the ministry of finance is taking a close look whether they are sneaking gold by any chance.
