Vasan ,Shipping Minister inaugurated the e-terminal and two new twin lift super post Panamax cranes With this The Chennai Container Terminal Ltd (CCTL), operated by DP World Chennai, has become the first e-terminal in the country. The simplified and convenient online services offered by CCTL to its customers include Electronic form 13, Electronic SSR, web access, web-based CRM, invoice & account statements on the web, customer relationship management and web/SMS based container tracking system.
Ennarasu Karunesan, Director and CEO, DP World Chennai, said that technological innovation was one way of providing better customer service and said that they would create infrastructure and processes that would best serve our customers. The cranes were procured at a cost of Rs.90 crore have a lifting capacity of 65 Metric Tonnes in twin mode is installed at Bharti Dock and will reduce turnaround time of ships. With the induction of these new cranes, more service windows would be available with improved productivity of more than 35 moves that would benefit the EXIM trade at large with global best service levels, he added.
