Amendments to Consumer Protection Act for the benefit of e-commerce customers

For the benefit of e-commerce customers, the Government is planning to introduce safeguards in the proposed amendments to Consumer Protection Act .
Minister of State for Consumer Affairs Raosaheb Patil Danve said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha said,"...To protect consumer interests, the Department (Consumer Affairs) is including necessary safeguards for protection of rights of consumer of technology based marketing like e-commerce, telemarketing etc. Department of Consumer Affairs is consulting with other departments on the need for regulation of e-commerce industry and on administrative responsibility for the subject.”
