TNPSC Chairman, Mr. C. Balasubramanian, informed yesterday (30th December) that there are many vacancies for the post of officers in the department of Police and hence, there will be an announcement for conducting Group-1 examinations in January.
TNPSC had conducted Group-2A examinations to fill the vacancies in Tamil Nadu State government offices. Appointment orders were issued to the 10 top candidates. 9 of the top 10 scorers are engineers.
Another 2,200 candidates have been called for counselling and verification of qualifications.
A programmes has been made to check at least 200 applications each day to complete checking by 23rd January.
Candidates have been selected on the basis of ranks scored in the examination and not on the basis of ‘cut-off’ marks.
108 candidates have been called for counselling and verification of qualifications for the filling up of vacancies in the government secretariat and the legislative assembly for the posts of clerks.
During the 1st stage of counselling & verification, vacancies of 2760 posts in 29 departments for the posts of 2,668 Assistants, Accountant, junior clerks, and 92 direct clerks.
The results of the 1st stage of Group-1 examinations will be announced in 15 days.
The results of the Group-4 examinations will be announced in 2 months.
Group-1 main examinations may be scheduled on February or March.
The action plan for 2015 will be released in January, 2015.
Lots of vacancies exist in the Police Department. TNPSC Chairman indicated that group-1 examinations to be announced in January will be to especially fill the vacancies in the Police Department and then the others.
