Chennai Meteorological Centre: Tamil Nadu North-east monsoon season is over!

Chennai Meteorological centre has informed that the North-east Monsoon season in Tamil Nadu is over.
Any rain from now onward will count as winter-season rain.
A rare phenomenon of sever snowfall has been observed over the last 3 days in Chennai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur and many other districts.
Heavy fog is observed between 11.00 PM & 7.00 AM. Buses, trucks, cars and 2-wheelers keep their headlights on even after 7.00 AM.
Snowfall lasts till 9.00 AM. Severe cold is experienced during the nights.
An official from the meteorological centres informed that the snowing may last till end February.
