The Central Government Finance Minister, Mr. Arun Jaitley, was participating in the event organised by CII (Confederation of Indian Industries) . While addressing this meeting, the minister informed that there has been a phenomenal change in the views of all foreign investors about India since the Modi government assumed power.
The loss in the confidence of the foreign investors has been offset and the confidence has been won over the last 7 months of the new government.
The minister informed that the central government was making all-out efforts to attract foreign direct investment.
The tax system needs certain modifications favouring the investors. The state governments should compete with each other in attracting foreign direct investment.
The minister also informed that the central government is planning to withdraw all the subsidies currently extended in a gradual fashion.
