Price of red chillies (long red chillies) up!

The price of bulb-shaped red chillies has come down in Tamil Nadu while the long red chillies price is up.
Last week, the bulb-shaped red chillies (‘gundu milagai’) sold at Rs. 170/- per kg. Now, this is sold at Rs. 140/- per kg.
2nd grade bulb-shaped red chilly is sold at Rs. 120/- per kg as compared to the last week’s price of Rs. 140/- per kg.
The price reduction is attributed to the better yield of the red chilly crop in the areas of Vilathikulam Paramakudi, etc.
However, the price of long chilly is now Rs. 105/- per kg as compared to the last week price of Rs. 90/- per kg.
