Department of information & technology plans to take over Aadhar card administration!

It is gathered from reliable sources that the central government’s department of information & technology is planning to take over the Aadhar card administration under its control.
Until now, Aadhar card administration was under the Central Government Planning Commission.
Since the Planning Commission has been dissolved and a new ‘Neethi Ayok’ has been created, the department of information & technology has proposed to take Aadhar system under its control.
A senior official from the department of information and technology informed that this step would only be proper as Aadhar scheme and its features involve the latest technology,
So far, 74.50 Crores of Aadhar cards have been issued. This constitutes 61% of the entire population.
