The period for Employees Provident Fund is being extended to 20 years from the present 15 years.
The details of this proposal will be released during the coming budget session submitted on 28th February by the central government.
As per the current arrangements, a PF subscriber can get a part of his accrued PF after 7 years. He/she can get the full PF amount after a period of 15 years.
Considering the future welfare of the PF subscribers, it is proposed to extend this 15 years’ period to 20 years.
