Vasantha Maaligai producer D Rama Naidu is no more

Rama Naidu who produced Shivaji Ganesan’ s starrer Vasantha Maaligai passed away yesterday. He who was aged 78 years was a famous personality in the Telugu film industry. He has produced more than 100 films including Tamil films such as Sivaji Ganesan starrer Vasantha Maaligai, Rajinikanth starrer Thanikattu Raja, Madhura Geetham, Kulandaikaga.Deiva Piravi and Thirumangalyam.
All of a sudden D Rama Naidu fell ill and he was immediately rushed to a private nursing home. He was intensively treated but in vain. He passed way in the hospital.
Father of noted film hero, D. Venkatesh and grandfather of upcoming actor, Rana, Rama Naidu established the well-known film house Suresh Productions, named after his elder son.
Recipient of Dada Saheb Phalke Award for lifetime achievement in 2009 and also Padma Bhushan in 2012 in recognition of his contribution to Indian cinema, Rama Naidu also holds the record for producing highest number of films in the world.
