The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, informed that 100000 lakh job opportunitiesd will be created by reducing the imports in defence sector. He was inaugurating the Aero India exhibition at Bangalore.
The Aero India Exhibition has drawn the attention at international level. The modernisation of the defence sector is of topmost priority. Technology will play an important role in the future.
The details on export/imports of aircraft spares and the latest technology can be learnt at this exhibition. The exhibition will serve as the base for the development of tools and devices for defence sector within India even for exports.
Currently, 60% of the devices for defence sector are being imported. Immediate efforts must be taken to reduce this at least up to 25% . This will create job opportunities for 100000 individuals.
If we can manufacture devices in India from the current level to 70%, the number of defence sector industries will double.
Intense focus is required for the development of the defence sector. Local manufacturing capability and the technology level should improve.
Educationists and scientists should research on developing the defence sector. It should reach and match international standards.
Both the private and public sector should participate in the development of defence sector with assistance from foreign concerns. Development of defence sector directly contributes to the development of the nation.
This exhibition is a step towards proving this.
