Masi Festival starts at Thiruchendur temple with flagpole installation!

The second of the 6 holy abodes of Lord Muruga, the favourite God of the Tamil,  the temple in Thiruchendur, starts celebration of ‘Masi’ festival today (Monday, 22nd February) with the flagpole installation (Kodiyetram) ceremony.

 The temple corridors are opened by 1.00 AM today.

Viswaroopam performed at 1.30 AM.

Udhayamarthanda Abhishekham were performed at 2.00 PM.

Deeparadhanai had performed at 4.00 PM at the start of the evening.

The festival will be for 12 days.

The most important part of ;Chariot run (Therottam) is scheduled on 4th March.

During the 8th day of the festival, Lord Muruga (or Shanmuga) will be adorned with ‘Pachai sathi’ (Green) and offer Darshan for the devotees.

‘Theppa Urchavam’ will be performed on 11th day (night).
