TRAI reduces connectivity charges: Landline phone call rates to reduce!

TRAI (Telecom regulatory Authority of India) has reduced the connectivity charges for linking the landline telephones connections paving the way for some reduction in landline telephone charges.
When telephone calls are made from landline to another phone, linkage charges of Rs. 0.20 was collected. TRAI has announced that this is being totally withdrawn.
Further, the charges of calling from landline to cell phone are being reduced from Rs.0.20 to Rs. 0.14.
TRAI expects that this will pave the way for increased demand for landlines.
