The Rajalakshmi Group of Educational Institutions, one of the largest of its kind in India, honored six eminent women from different fields as part of their annual Women’s day Celebrations. A cheque for Rupees one lakh as given to the NGO "Hand in Hand" for their pioneering work in the upliftment of women.
Dr. Thangam Meganathan, Chairperson, Rajalakshmi Institutions said, this is the 8th year in a row, where women achievers are recognized and honored by the group. She mentioned that over than 50% students in the college are women, therefore recognizing such talented women will motivate our students.
This year the institutions have honored Dr. Kamala Selvaraj - well known Gynecologist, Padma Bhushan Ms. Sudha Ragunathan - Carnatic Composer and Vocalist, Ms. Pushpa Kandasamy - entrepreneur, Dr. Srinidhi Chidambaram - Dancer and qualified Doctor, Ms. Hufriz Wadia - Lawyer and Ms. Srimathi Shivashankar ? Professional Engineer. All of them were given the specially designed women achievers award trophy.
In their acceptance speech all awardees stressed on the factors that make for success : Hard work, perseverance, dedication, self-development will open the doors of accomplishment.
