BSNL employees 2-day strike in April

Placing a plea to revive Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited which is undergoing huge loss, all its employees have planned to organize a 2-day strike in April. This will lead to troublesome effects without repair of any faults on lines, and without being able to pay their bills.
 
Speaking about the loss, BSNL union or association members of Tamil Nadu circle say BSNL has been incurring loss since 2009 due to the centre’s pro-private sector policy. S.Chellapa, the convenor of the association said the presspersons that the loss was due to on-purchasing of equipment and tender cancellation.
 
He added that the strike will be held on 21st and 22nd April supporting their demands including that of merging Bharat Broadband Network Limited with BSNL and expanding the latter one. This strike will see participation from all 2.5 lakh BSNL workers and will be conducted in all-India level including 8000 belonging to Chennai.
