Happy Ugadi 2015

Yugadi or Ugadi, the New Year’s day for Deccan region of India falls today. The name Yugadi is of Sanskrit origin meaning beginning of age. As the Hindu calendar is a lunisolar calendar, this day falls on varied dates every year. Necessary arrangements for the new year are on. The hill top Venkateswara Swamy temple located at Ananthavaram village in Thullur mandal will have its Ugadi celebration for the first time in Andhra Pradesh.
 
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu together with other ministers of his cabinet and other government officials are taking part in the celebration that is scheduled between 9 am and 12 noon today. All necessary arrangements are done to make the event a grand success and to happen in a grandeur manner showcasing all the richness and cultural heritage of the state. The festival will be supervised by Collector Kantilal Dande and Joint Collector Ch. Sridhar.
