Cell-phone prices to drop by Rs.1000/- as VAT has been reduced: Public delighted!

Tamil Nadu Government has reduced the VAT (Value Added Tax) on cell-phones during the presentation of the budget.
Prevailing VAT was 14.5%. This has now been reduced to 5%. 9.5% additional tax has been removed in a sensational step.
This measure has paved the way for cell phone prices to come down in Tamil Nadu. For example, a cell-phone costing Rs. 10000/- will reduce by Rs. 1000/-.
This news has gladdened the hearts of middle-class and the poor community. Naturally, cell-phone sellers are also equally delighted!
