In view of the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches to be conducted on April 9,11,25,28 and May 4,8 and 10, the traffic police have announced changes on Wallajah Road, Bharathi Salai, Bells Road and the stretch between Labor Statue and State Guest House.
The changes are as:
All slow-moving and commercial vehicles will not be allowed on Wallajah Road and Bharathi Salai.
Vehicles with passes will be permitted to enter Victoria Hostel road only through the Bharathi Salai-Victoria Hostel junction. Vehicles with Madras University parking lot passes will have to proceed only on Kamarajar Salai or on Wallajah Road from the State Guest House to reach the parking place. Vehicles with passes to MCC parking, will go via Bharathi Salai, Bells Road or from Wallajah Road via Bells Road.
The stretch between Labour Statue and State Guest house will be closed for vehicles which proceed from Labour Statue to Wallajah Road.
Vehicles without passes proceeding from Anna Square will not be permitted to take the right on Wallajah Road near Labour Statue. They will proceed straight, take the right turn at Kannagi Statue and proceed via Bharathi Salai and Bells Road to reach Wallajah Road.Vehicles without passes coming from Anna Statue via Wallajah Road towards the stadium shall proceed straight to Labour Statue and be parked on the Marina Service Lane or take the left turn and be parked on Swami Sivananda Salai.
Vehicles without passes coming from War Memorial can take the right and be parked on Sivananda Salai or can proceed to Marina Swimming pool, enter the service lane on the left and be parked on the service lane.
Vehicles without passes coming from Gandhi Statue can enter the service lane near Seerani Arangam and be parked on the Marina service lane. Adequate parking facilities for vehicles of spectators have also been arranged near the stadium.
