As Google failed to update an important part of its software, Gmail users have been receiving warning messages and error messages recently. Google says this software problem has affected majority of its users.

These error messages started circulating during the early hours of 4th April when users tried sending mails through gmail and its messaging apps. According to BBT, it is said that the reason behind such warning message is the failure of Google to update its security certificate of Gmail and its app services. This certificate is essential to establish a secure connection with the destination. Google has its own in-house security service by name Authority G2 which administers the security certificate and other essential security for software system. According to sources from Google, most of its users found error messages. They also add that this may cause problems that are completely unexpected. This problem was resolved after two hours of noticing the issue. This problem was initiated when Google refused to accept security certificate given by the China Internet Network Information Centre (CNNIC). The reason behind the security lapse is said that CNNIC meant the certificate cannot be trusted anymore.
