Dependable Railway authorities circle have informed that Railway security Commissioner’s team has given approval for starting Chennai Metro rail service for public.
It is understood that the dates for the running of the section between Alandur-Koyambedu will be announced in May.
This is following the 2 stage-testing processes undertaken by the Railway Security Commissioner’s team.
Railway Security Commissioner informed that the 2nd stage testing has been completed for the section between Koyambedu-Ashok Nagar. Aspects such as passengers’ safety, basic facilities, and the facilities in Railway Stations were analysed.
The report of the testing team will be sent within 10 or 15 days to the Central government and the Railways department.
Chennai Metro Rail Management and the central government will jointly decide the starting date for public service.
