Internet users in villages will jump to 28 Crores in 2018!

Boston Consulting Group (BCG) has informed that the number of internet users will rise phenomenally by 5 times to 28 Crores by the year 2018.

In the report, it is mentioned that 55 Crore users will be using the internet in 2018.

Out of this 55 crores, 28 crore persons will be from small cities and villages.

The count was only 6 crores in the year 2014!

In India, there has been an increasing trend of internet usage with mobile phones than with personal computers. This trend applies to both cities & villages.

In cities & villages, 70% of the internet users access from their mobile phones.

There is an increasing trend among these people to order & buy various items on-line.

Women tend to use the internet more. Because of this, the share of women internet users which was 25% in 2013 will now jump to 33%.

This development is feasible as 44% of house administration lies in the hands of women.

20 Crores accessed internet through mobile phones in 2014. Internet connectivity is increasing according to the increasing income levels of the users.
