Beans sold at Rs. 100/- per kg at Koyambedu vegetable market!

The price of beans has touched Rs. 100/- per kg in the retail market at Koyambedu.

Last month, beans were sold at Rs. 30/- kg! Last week, it sold at Rs. 90/- per kg.

The traders informed the price of beans has touched Rs. 100/- per kg today (Saturday, 25th April).

Usually, beans is brought in 15 trucks daily from the villages of Kuppam, Venkatagiri, and Chintamani in Andhra State.  Currently, only 8 trucks are bringing beans creating an acute shortage. The traders informed that this is the main reason for the price rise.

Prices of flowers down!

Prices of flowers are down. 2 days ago, the price of jasmine was Rs. 150/- per kg. Currently, it is sold at Rs. 75/- per kg.

Mexican Tube-rose or Rajanigandha (‘Sammangi’ in Tamil) is sold at Rs. 50/- per kg compared to Rs. 100/- per kg a few days ago.

Prices of oleander (Arali in Tamil), rose, and chrysanthemum (samanthi in Tamil) have also reduced.
