Chennaites need not worry about earthquakes

Dr. S. Srinivasalu, Professor M.Sc, (Marine Geology) of Anna University has mentioned that Chennaites need not worry about earthquakes because there are very less chances of earth quakes.
15 years back there was a big earthquake in Gujarat. This earthquake made everyone tremble throughout the nation. Now the earthquake in Nepal has put the entire nation to a great panic.
Dr. S. Srinivasalu while speaking to the media said, “Five zones have been identified as earthquake prone areas. They are Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh. In Chennai, it was 1 and 2 zones. Now it has been changed as 2 and 3 zones. Though there are chances of earthquakes in Chennai and Coimbatore, there will be less impact in Chennai. At the same time places like Nandanam, Saidapaettai, Kodambakkam and West Mambalam, the tremors will be more because of clay soil.”
