108 degrees temperature in Chennai!

For the first time in this summer season the temperature touched 108 degree Fahrenheit in Chennai and Vellore. 100 degree Fahrenheit was registered in Palayankottai, Madurai, Cuddalore and Trichy. Right from the morning many districts experienced heat due to high humidity and extreme heat.
An official of the Meteorological Centre has mentioned, “Agni Nakshatram which is supposed to be the peak during the summer season began on 4th. Agni Nakshatram will be there for one more week. Because of this the impact of heat intensity can be felt. There is also delay in the sea breeze. If there is no sea breeze during the coming week there will be more heat intensity.”
