1 Lakh BE seats vacant

There is shocking news that there are one lakh seats vacant in the engineering colleges of Tamil Nadu. The reason for this is the students have lost interest in engineering because the college lacks infrastructure. Apart from this there is less job opportunity. 2 Lakhs 50 thousand applications were printed and were to be distributed in Anna University’s four centres and 60 centres in Tamil Nadu. The applications forms are being sold in all centres from 6th.
Today is the last day for getting the applications in all the centres. Applications will be available till tomorrow evening in Anna University. The last date for issue and receipt of forms in Chennai is Friday. Nativity certificate/first graduate certificate/copy of mark sheet/copy of certificate should be attached to the application forms
There are 538 engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. Last year there were 2 Lakhs 5 thousand 463 seats available in these colleges. 2 Lakhs 50 thousand application forms were printed. 2 Lakhs 12 thousand application forms were sold out but only 70 lakhs 500 applications were filled and submitted. 30 thousand management seats were lying vacant.
This year there are 2 lakhs 7 thousand 500 vacant seats. Tomorrow is the last date for submitting the applications. It cannot be said that all the applications will be submitted tomorrow. So this year also the less number of applications have been sold.
The university has also released the tentative dates for issuing random number, rank list and counselling. The schedule of events has been uploaded on the university website.
