The increased service tax ratios presented in the last budget will be effective from Monday, 1st June, 2015.
Here is a list of services which will include the increased rates:
Currently, the Service Tax ratio is 12.36%.
This will be 14% from 1st June.
Cell-phones, which have become indispensable accessories, are also subject to this increased Service Tax Ratio.
The increased rates will apply for internet services or Data services also.
Transport Services will be subject to this increased service tax ratio.
The increased service tax ratio will also be applicable for goods being taken in trains of trucks.
Some essential food items such as rice, etc are exempted from this increased rate.
The increased Service tax ratio will be applicable for air-conditioned restaurants.
DTH customers, Beautician shop customers, Courier Service, and Laundry Service will all be applicable for the new increased Service Tax ratio.
Even parking vehicles at shopping malls will entail additional rates.
As construction/building industry will also be subjected to this increased Service Tax ratio, new houses may cost a few thousands extra!
Some entertainment like Music, dance, and dramas, where Rs. 500/- tickets are paid will also invite this additional tax.
Theme parks are also subject to these revised rates.
Financial issues like chit funds and insurance premium will also be subject to this increased Service Tax ratio.
