A new free version of music streaming service is launched by Google Inc on Tuesday. This is a move to upstage the debut of Apple Inc’s similar service that will be unfolded next week.

So far, a paid version priced $9.99 per month subscription was made available by Google Play Music. With this new launch, it will be Google’s very first free version of streaming service. This is available online on Android and iOS by this weekend, said Elias Roma, the Google product manager.

It was earlier announced by Apple that a free music streaming service will be launched on 30th of June at $9.99 per month along with a family plan priced at $14.99 per month along with three months free trial.

Compared to other streaming services like Spotify or Rhapsody, Google Play Music will curate playlists. Users can refine and be selective based on genres, artists, or activity which can give users a fun at work experience. This will interest many users, said Roman in an interview. Unlike other subscription music services by Google, this free service will also have ads. In fact millions of users look for Google Play Music and withdraw themselves when it comes to paid subscription.
