Involvement in betting is the reason the Chennai Super Kings Team is banned from participation in IPL league matches for 2 years.
CSK administration official Gurunath Meyyappan has a left ban imposed from participating any cricket-related activity.
Based on the report by the committee headed by Mr. Lodha, the punishment details for Chennai Super Kings & Rajasthan Royals Teams (for involvement in illegal betting) were announced today.
In the judgement, Mr. Lodha has recorded that Mr. Gurunath Meyyappan had violated the BCCI laws. This is not the practice of an individual with genuine interest in good cricket. Hence, he is banned for lifetime from participating in any cricket-related activities.
It was also proved that the former administrator of Rajasthan Royals team, Mr. Raj Kundra was involved in match-fixing. He has been banned for 5 years from participating in any cricket-related activities.
Chennai Super Kings Team is banned from participating in IPL for 2 years.
Similarly, Rajasthan Royals team is also banned for 2 years from participating in IPL for 2 years.
