The severe fire accident which occurred in Itarsi station in Madhya Pradesh. It is learnt that around 59 trains from Tamil Nadu have been cancelled so far.
June, plenty of trains have been cancelled including those from Tamil Nadu. Over 3200 trains have been cancelled all over India. Because of this, Indian Railways have incurred a loss of Rs. 1230 Crores.
Repair works have been taken up on a war-footing. All efforts are being taken to complete the repairs by 23rd July. A senior Railway official explained that this fire accident was one of the largest. Over 2000 trains are crossing this track daily.
Currently, over 750 express trains have been cancelled. From 17th June till date, over 3200 express trains have been cancelled. This has caused a huge loss of Rs. 1230 Crores to Indian Railways.
A team of 950 engineers under the leadership of 50 officials are on the repair job. Earlier plan was to complete by 17th July. However, this is postponed and now it is expected to be completed by 23rd July.
