`FASTag` has been launched by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). This electronic payment device can be used for those passing through the Chennai Bengaluru National Highway. Toll payment for this highway is paid at the Sriperumbudur plaza.

The device has already been introduced for travellers of the Delhi - Mumbai Corridor. The device can be fixed onto the windscreens of the vehicle, and used in toll plazas all over the country. These cards can be purchased at toll plazas that already have this facility. An initial amount of Rs. 250 needs to be paid. Basic details of the purchaser will be given to staff members of ICICI and Axis Banks, who will be present at the toll plazas. The device will deduct toll fees electronically.

A NHAI official said, "Attibele, Krishnagiri, Chennasamudram, Peddakallupalli, and Sriperumbudur will have the facility at 35 plazas in two weeks." An official of the Tamil Nadu State Sand Lorry Owners Federation said, "It would help reduce waiting time at toll plazas... The Sriperumbudur plaza is one point on the Chennai–Bengaluru highway where we get stuck during peak hours. And since the card can be used across India, it will be useful for vehicles travelling across States."
