An army of teachers, anganwadi sevikas, ration officers as well as civic and state government employees will go from house to house gathering details of every resident of India as part of the second and final phase of Census 2011.

The enumeration of people would be done in reference to the 29-point questionnaire provided to enumerators on the job.

Among the features introduced for the first time are questions related to sex\gender identity (male, female, or others), types of disability, as well as place and date of birth. Besides, the people would also be required to part with correct information regarding their religious (non-religious) and linguistic (including mother tongue) identities.
