A new system where no identity will be required for booking reservations for Tatkal tickets is being introduced from 1st September.
The required software changes are being carried out in full swing.
Southern Railway officials explained in the regard that the Department of Railways has taken a decision that no identity will be required for booking for Tatkal tickets. It is enough if ID card is shown during the travel.
Even while a group of 6 passengers are undertaking the journey, it is enough even if one member among the 6 produces the identity card.
This change will save considerable time spent for reservation.Required software changes are being made.The new system would start from 1st September.
DRDU Executive Chairman Mr. R. Ilangovan informed that there are some benefits for the passengers. However, there is some scope for fraud operations when the genuine passengers may be affected. Railways should keep strict watch.
